Editorial policy

Updated: 2026-09-25

This policy explains who is responsible for MARKMA content and which rules the editorial team follows when publishing it.

Authorship

Material is published under the editorial organization, “MARKMA Editorial Team.” Structured data identifies it as an Organization, not a Person. Personal names, qualifications and credentials are published only after verification; there are currently no verified personal profiles. MARKMA does not invent authors or reviewers.

The editorial team page explains the team's responsibility. Editorial review is not presented as independent expert review.

Preparing material

Every item follows the same process:

  1. define the question and the scope;
  2. collect sources when the material makes external claims;
  3. draft the explanation, calculations and examples;
  4. check calculations against the shared formula library;
  5. complete editorial review and publish.

Use of automation tools

The editorial team uses automation tools for drafts, structure and checks. No material is published without checking its sources and calculations. Automation is not an author, a source of facts or the sole reviewer.

Editorial and advertising material

Editorial content is separate from advertising and partnerships. Any content created or funded by a partner is identified on the item itself. The site has no undisclosed advertising.

Corrections

The project corrects errors instead of hiding them. Priority goes to calculation errors, then factual errors, then style. A significant change to a formula or calculation is reflected in the formula version, worked example and review date.

An item is removed if its claim can no longer be supported by a source, or if an incorrect calculation cannot be fixed.
